The MU Career Center offers a variety of walk-in services for students, faculty, and alumni of the University of Missouri as well as members of the community. Many of our services are provided by current MU students specifically trained to help you!

Explore the Possibilities: If you are deciding on a career path or major, you can come to the MU Career Center to:

  • Talk with a Career Specialist
  • Take a career assessment (some carry a small fee)
  • Research occupational and career information
  • Look at MU degree program information
  • Enroll in a Career Explorations course (SSC 2100)
  • Talk with a Career Counselor (by appointment)

Gain Experience: Experiences help you build skills and clarify career choices. Come to the MU Career Center to:

  • Find part-time jobs and internships
  • Search for Work-study jobs (available online)
  • Locate volunteer and service opportunities including A Way With Words and Numbers and Jumpstart
  • Find about more about job shadowing and informational interviewing
  • Learn about other experiences on campus

Prepare Yourself: To get any job, you will need to be well prepared. Come to the MU Career Center to:

  • Have us review your resume and cover letter
  • Schedule a mock interview (by appointment; sign up at http://www.hiremizzougrads.com)
  • Discuss networking and job searching strategies
  • Attend an etiquette dinner (prescheduled events)
  • Enroll in a College to Career Transitions course (ESC PS 4087)

Pursue the Next Step: What is your next step after graduation? Come to the MU Career Center to:

  • Register at http://hireMizzougrads.com, including access to job postings, on-campus interviews, career fairs, and more!
  • Talk with us about job search strategies, job offer negotiation tips, and company information
  • Learn what is involved in applying to graduate school
  • Talk with staff at the Entrepreneurial Center
