The Learning Center Overviewphone: 573-882-2493 The Learning Center provides free academic assistance to enrich your learning experiences. Help Sessions: Tutoring and review sessions are available in many intro and gen ed courses required of freshman and sophomores at Mizzou, including economics, math, science, statistics, and languages. Flyers announcing times and locations are distributed in classes early in the semester. Writing Skills: Whether you are a skilled writer or a novice, the Learning Center offers writing appointments to help you brainstorm, develop ideas, interpret texts and assignments, organize ideas, revise rough drafts, and improve research, editing, and computer skills. Online Writery: We offer links to writing resources and 24/7 cybertutorials. Send us drafts, explain your concerns, and we’ll send you suggestions and advice. Student Support Services: Students eligible for this TRiO grant, administered by the Learning Center, may receive individual tutoring for courses in which group tutoring is not available and when effective tutors are available. TRiO CATS: Our Community for Academic & Tutorial Support (CATS) mentors and tutors TRiO students to help them meet the academic challenges of life at MU. Eligibility in TRiO CATS, a federally funded Student Support Services program, is based on first-generation status, financial need, disability support, etc. Ask the Learning Center for details.
