New Student Advice!
We asked our current students “What’s one piece of advice you’d give new students to help them settle in and make the most of their time at Mizzou?” Here are their tips and advice they shared with Roary!
- “Do everything you can; as much as possible, overload yourself and push your limits. Your first semester is to explore opportunities, winter break is to decide what you love and that second semester is to do what you love with all the energy and dedication you can.”
- “It’s okay to not have it all figured out!”
- “Know that everyone is feeling what you’re feeling. The nerves and uncertainty are so normal. Try your best to embrace the change & the new beginnings. It’s okay if it doesn’t feel exciting at first, you’ll get there! Everyone’s timeline is different.”
- “Get acquainted with campus resources and don’t shy away from using them. All the staff is here to help and support you and all you have to do is ask. The amount of help available might surprise you!”
- “Don’t be afraid to try new things. It might be scary while you do it but you’ll be glad you did after.”
