Last spring Mizzou participated in the SEC Food Fight held by Tiger Pantry. The annual Southeastern Conference-wide drive ran from April 1 through 17 raising a whopping 342,000 points across the conference. Mizzou placed second raising 61,315 points, which were earned through monetary or physical donations to Tiger Pantry, now available to MU students.
Tiger Pantry Executive Director Joshua Donaldson is a rising senior studying biological engineering. He and Reanna Munjoy, fundraising and outreach director for Tiger Pantry, spearheaded the drive. Together, these student leaders planned and successfully executed two weeks of events, fundraisers and campus collaborations to fight campus food insecurity, calling the drive “The Hunger Games: Mizzou Edition.”
“What we raised in physical donations through the SEC Food Fight, will stock the pantry completely for an entire semester and that’s incredible in and of itself,” Donaldson said. “The money raised, enables us to expand our programs and ensure that healthy and nutritious options are available across campus for all of our patrons.”
Mizzou has joined the newly formed SEC Food Pantry Alliance and will host the SEC Food Fight in 2026. Throughout the year, the student-run pantry hosts food drives and events to increase awareness and change the perception of hunger on campus. Located in the Hitt Street Parking Structure, Tiger Pantry is open during the summer on Sundays from noon till 2 p.m.
